The English language version of the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions will govern your relationship with Compassion India Outreach. While the English version will govern, you can also use an automatic translation tool like Google Translate to view the documents in your language. Any further translation revisions will be posted on this page.

By accessing the Compassion India Outreach website, you agree to this Privacy Policy and its terms and consent to having your data transferred to and processed in the United States. Your use of the website is also governed by our Terms and Conditions. Please read those terms carefully as well.

We take the privacy of the information you provide and that we collect seriously and implement security safeguards designed to protect your data as discussed below. We do not share, rent, or sell your personally identifiable data to any third-party advertisers or ad networks for third-party advertising purposes. We will not disclose information from your financial institution to any other organization, ministry, or business unless ordered to do so through a legal court order.

The information you provide, such as your name, address, email address, or telephone number is only used within Compassion India Outreach to ensure accurate and timely processing of donations and communications with you. All information you provide is kept confidential. We will remove or update any information from our files at your request. We may seek additional information to verify a requestor’s identity. We may also decline to process requests if we cannot verify the requestor's identity or if we believe the request will jeopardize the privacy of others, violate any law or legal requirement, would cause the information to be incorrect, or for a similar legitimate purpose.

If you choose to provide a voluntary donation through CompassionIndiaOutreach.org or a third-party website linked to Compassion India Outreach, then and only then will you be prompted and required to provide credit card, bank account, and other payment information necessary to process the transaction. We will collect the designation for your donation, if you provide one, as well as personal information such as your name, address, country, phone number, and/or email address to ensure that your donation is used for the purpose you requested and to provide you with an “Annual Giving Statement” that itemizes your donation(s) for tax purposes or your personal use. We will not store or otherwise process financial information provided to us online for the purposes of donating. As of the date of this Policy, we use PayPal to process your online donation payments. Donations to Compassion India Outreach are, like all charitable donations, not refundable. Compassion India Outreach may consider at its sole discretion a refund if the donation was made by accident or through some extremely unusual circumstance and if Compassion India Outreach receives a written request within 48 hours of the donation. Compassion India Outreach will never issue a refund after the donated funds have been granted to a project. If a donation is refunded, the associated tax receipt is no longer accurate and you should shred it.

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive.

We may use your information to contact you about account security, legal, and other service-related issues. Please be aware that you cannot opt-out of receiving such messages from us. We may use your personal information to investigate, respond to and resolve legal, security, and technical issues and complaints, including, as necessary, security purposes or possible fraud, violations of law or our Terms and Conditions or this Privacy Policy, or attempts to harm; however, you agree that we have no obligation to prevent or monitor for any of the foregoing.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties in order to process information as described above and otherwise enable our ability to provide Compassion India Outreach, as further discussed below.

We may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide as described in this Privacy Policy to fulfill our obligations under our Terms of Use, to accomplish the purpose for which you provide it, for any other purpose you request when you provide the information, or for any other purpose for which we have your consent.

We use Internet encryption software, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol and encryption, when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information to our servers and while it is at rest.

We do not collect personal information from any person we actually know is under the age of 16 without the consent of the parent or legal guardian of that minor.

If you allow your minor child to use Compassion India Outreach, we ask that you discuss the risks of sharing personal information on the Internet with your children and require that they refrain from communicating with any third parties or share any personal information with Compassion India Outreach or Compassion India Outreach users. Compassion India Outreach is based out of Illinois within the United States and your use of Compassion India Outreach and this Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Illinois. If you are using Compassion India Outreach from outside this state or country, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located and our central database is operated. We process data both inside and outside of the United States and rely on contractual commitments between us and companies transferring personal data that require the protection and security of such data.
